What Is Diode LASER?

Diode LASER emits monochromatic light at a wavelength of 810 nm.

This longer wavelength allows deeper penetration while avoiding surface melanin, reducing epidermal absorption and the risk of burns.

The energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft, transferred to the root, and destroys the regenerative cells of the follicle.

It is particularly suitable for skin phototypes IV–V, darker or tanned skin, and individuals frequently exposed to the sun.

Can It Be Applied in Summer or on Tanned Skin?

Yes, under specific conditions.

With SHR technology or Dynamic Mode, diode LASER is gentler on the skin surface, allowing sun or sea exposure 3 days after treatment.

Important: LASER hair removal is not permitted on sunburned skin or immediately before sun exposure.

How Many Sessions Are Required?

Non-hormone-dependent areas

(Legs, underarms, eyebrows)

• Average: 8–10 sessions

• Frequency:

o First 2–3 sessions: every 1–1.5 months

o Remaining sessions: every 1.5–2 months, depending on regrowth

Hormone–dependent areas

(Face, abdomen, chest, back)

More sessions are required, and results depend on hormonal factors.

SHR & Dynamic Mode Technologies – How They Work

For safe treatment even on tanned skin:

• Soprano Beauty Remove uses patented SHR technology

• Primelase uses Dynamic Mode

Both apply the “in motion” technique, meaning:

• Continuous, repetitive movement of the LASER handpiece over the area

This results in:

1. Complete area coverage

2. Gradual, controlled heating of the hair root

3. Minimized burn risk

4. Destruction of follicle regenerative cells while allowing the skin to cool

Instead of a single high-energy pulse, multiple low-energy pulses are used, accumulating sufficient heat to destroy the follicle safely and prevent regrowth.

Can Diode LASER Treat Folliculitis?

Yes.

Folliculitis often occurs after shaving or waxing when hairs become trapped under the skin.

When LASER Hair Removal Is Not Allowed

• Photosensitizing medications

• Anti-inflammatory drugs taken within the last week

• Topical tretinoin or retinol use

• Isotretinoin acne treatment

• Tattoos or permanent makeup in the area

• Vitiligo

• Pregnancy

• Sunburn or solarium burn

• Immediate sun exposure after treatment (allowed after 3 days)

Before the Session

• Wait until sunburn fully subsides

• Discontinue self-tanning products / spray tan 15 days prior

• Avoid waxing, tweezing, or bleaching 4–5 weeks before & after

• Shave 1–5 days before treatment, after consultation

After the Session

• Use sunscreen with frequent reapplication

• Avoid intense sun exposure or solarium (sunbathing allowed after 3 days)

• No deodorant for 24 hours (underarms)

• Avoid peeling or harsh exfoliation

• Do not wax or tweeze

• Mild redness is normal and temporary (hours to 2–3 days)

Additional Information

• Treated hairs shed 15–20 days after the session

• No hair vaporization, unlike Alexandrite LASER

• Shaving is allowed between sessions

• Always inform your therapist about any medication

Side Effects

The method is generally safe.

No side effects occur when guidelines are followed.
